The Electronics Assembler position assembles electronics according to product specifications.  The position is responsible for following blueprints, guidelines and/or diagrams, to assemble electronic devices and products using hand and power tools and other assembly equipment.  Maintains required records of production and reports any inconsistencies or equipment issues following standard procedures. This position may also assist Manufacturing Technicians in general mechanical assemblies.

Essential Functions

Assembly

  • Follow detailed schematics for assembly of degaussers and destruction devices
  • Mechanical and Electromechanical subassembly
  • Final assembly and testing of products
  • Assembles circuit boards and wiring harnesses. Prior experience with soldering required.
  • Ability to perform surface mount soldering in small components

Quality Assurance

  • Cross inspection of production
  • Calibrate and maintain assemblies for proper function
  • Troubleshoot and repair products
  • Final product testing

Receiving, Packaging, Shipping

  • Inspect incoming parts and materials
  • Material routing
  • Product packaging
  • Product shipping
  • Complete training and perform daily checklists for equipment used on site (ie. Forklift, manual and electric pallet jacks, hoists, lift tables, etc.)

Workplace Safety

  • Follow all safety procedures and policies

Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment

 

Physical Demands

Lift at least 75lbs

Carry up to 33lbs. for a distance up to 10 feet

Push/pull up to 200lbs

Grip tools with a force up to 30lbs

Full Time, Hourly Non-Exempt

 

Availability

Must be available 8am 5pm, Monday - Friday

 

Required Education and Experience

A high school diploma or its equivalent

0-2 years experience in a production setting

Knowledge of hand tools and fasteners

Prior experience soldering circuit boards required.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

An associate's degree in a comparable field

1-3 years experience in a production setting
